Don Sheil Australia is proud to announce the coming together of the indigenous art of Marsha Hall along with our own tradition of hand crafted tableware. Marsha has been commissioned by Don Sheil Australia to draw animals and birds, native to the area in which she lives. This artwork forms the basis for the Don Sheil Indigenous Collection.
Marsha Hall grew up in Napranum, Weipa. She belongs to the Thainakuit Tribe of the Mission River area. After attending Jessica Point Primary School, she later moved to Cairns to study at the Wangetti Education Centre.
Although Marsha has received no formal training in art, as a teenager she spent most of her spare time sketching and drawing in the style of her aboriginal traditions. In 1999, she joined the Napranum Preschool as an illustrator and educator. Her animal representations form part of the many resources that are produced and used to teach local languages to the pre school children.
Don Sheil Australia considers it a privilege t be able to showcase Marsha’s artwork in such a unique manner.
A gift tag explaining the indigenous design accompanies each item in this range.
