After leaving school in England at the age of 15, Gez became an apprentice Engineers pattern maker to the foundry industry. Six months after completing the apprenticeship he migrated to Australia in 1967, settling in Sydney. After a few years of various jobs involving timber, Gez and his wife settled in Kangaroo Valley in 1974. During 27 years of tree lopping Gez bec collected beautiful pieces of wood which lead to his furniture and toy making.
In 2001 Gez and his wife moved to the South Tablelands and became farmer and fine furniture maker.
All timbers used in Gez’s work have come from timber saved and salvaged over the years.
