Born in Sydney, Pat Hagan studied in Sydney and later in the UK, on a travelling scholarship. On her return to Australia she freelanced in textile design, and it was not until the late 1970’s that she began working with precious metals. She attended many workshops and was apprenticed to Vagn Hemmingson, a master craftsman employed by Georg Jensen.
In 1983 Pat was awarded an overseas study grant and spent 3 months at Haystack in Maine, USA. Since returning home she has exhibited in many galleries in Australia and in the UK. Her unique works have sold in all Australian states, and have been purchased by the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet for the Australian Government’s official gifts.
Pat Hagan works from a studio on her farm and has established a successful production range of “Australiana” which, combined with her exceptional skills and delightful humour, capture the spirit of this nation.
