The bowl currently in stock is a beautiful sized piece 20cm wide by 9cm high bowl increasing to 14cm with the sculpture.
The black bowl is remanisant of a boggy swamp with a green frog and a brown frog communicating with each other on a fallen moss covered branch lying on the side of the water. Created by Lindsay, who creates each piece individually from clay – he has been dubbed the “Frog Man” which he accepts as a title refering to the number of different frogs he has created.
The colours are underglazes which are applied to the finished piece and then kiln fired to 1100°C. This results in a permanent vibrant finish which helps to bring the clay to life.
“The rainforest is a constant inspiration to me to create in clay what I see, hear, smell and feel in this special environment. I try to bring the clay to life by recreating the textures, colours and atmosphere of the rainforest and the creatures in it.”
