The “Corro Bowl” is one of those emminently aesthetic and functional gifts that subtley says Australian. It can sit on akitchen counter with or without anything on it – it will also add a touch of smart, modern design anywhere in the house.
Design By Them “Corro Bowl” is made from corrugated steel, a material synonymous with the rural Australian landscape and modern Australian architecture. It is made from mirror polished stainless steel which contains 25% recycled content and requires no additional protective coatings. Stainless steel is extremely durable, promoting an extended product lifespan.
The bowl transforms this iconic material, accentuating its inherent strength and fluidity. Design By Them “Corro Bowl” can be used as either a fruit bowl or table centre piece. The corrugations form ideal troughs for nesting fruit, place fruit in troughs and stack accordingly.
The Bowl measures 410 x 300 x 435mm. Hand wash the bowl with a non abrasive sponge in warm water. Wipe dry with a soft non abrasive cloth.
The designers, Nicholas Karlovasitis and Sarah Gibson met whilst studying at university and formed DesignByThem in late 2006. Since establishing DesignByThem they have gone on to work with a diverse range of clients and have produced numerous designs characterised by their innovative use of materials, sustainable practices and ability to combine a sense of fun with clear function.
Steel is highly recyclable. Minimum waste during manufacturing with offcuts recycled. DesignByThem offers a product stewardship program where they will take back products at the end of their life to recycle or repair if damaged.
