The Nullarbor Nights label was started in 1991 near Eucia on the Nullarbor Plain, where the desert meets the ocean of the Great Australian Bight.
The original Nullarbor Nights workshop and studio is situated in a small hand built stone house, nestled secretly in a hidden valley of the Escarpment. The only regular visitors are Kangaroos and Wedge Tailed Eagles hovering above.
The scarves are knitted in Extra Fine Australian Merino Sheep wool, ruffled gently on the edges making a gossamer-light, super soft fabric renowned for its warmth and durability. The article is individually hand dyed in several stages, creating layers in the glorious colours of the Australian Landscape with multi-tonal colours running along their length thus making each one unique.
Textile artist Alice Leda Pettirosso designs and creates limited edition knit garments using Australian Extra fine Merino Wool, Pure Swiss Silk, Italian Mohair, and French and Belgian linen yarns. The colour combinations are almost limitless with new combinations always being discovered.
Gentle hand washing is recommended. It may be line dried and pulled gently to shape during drying and or ironing.
These scarves make superb gifts as they pack easily into travel bags, are as light as a feather and scrunch up to almost nothing and require only a shake to return it to its former beauty
Nullarbor Night products are Craft Mark accredited.
