The spoon bowl is the interpretation of the Hakea seed, and together the spoons form the pod: often referred to as mating spoons.

They are 10.5cms long and weigh 39gms of sterling silver.

They are the most perfect present wedding present depicting the joining of two individuals.

Ilaria was a student of architecture and Angiolo an architect and lecturer at the same university. In 1973 they married in London and later collaborated in Italy and Brazil designing, sculpting and silversmithing. Australia became their home in 1979. In the same year they established their design studio, Puzzle.

The collection is valued for the rare and intrinsic value of the natural material – over the thousands of years, the wood has become impregnated with chemicals from the ground water, producing the striking deep black colour.

The wood is composed of atoms that existed in the atmosphere and soils of the environment of 5000+ years ago. 18,000 years ago Australia was in the grip of a cold, dry period that devastated woodland vegetation. When the Ice Age ended about 10,000 years ago, trees returned to the rivers and mountain slopes, the Murray remained a course gravelly stream with colonies of giant redgums growing on the banks. As the channel changed the trees fell and were covered – they have been rediscovered. Each unique item carved of Australian Ancient Redgum comes with a Certificate of Authentication. This certificate is your assurance that the piece you have purchased is crafted from genuine Australian Ancient timber and is at its youngest at least 5,000 years old.

Wolfgang was trained by a master craftsman in Germany and arrived in Australia in 1960. In 1963 he started working with enamel. After some successful exhibitions began his own style of Australian Wildflower designs in pewter. Trained by a master craftsman in Germany, Wolfgang continues the ancient tradition of carving each of his original designs out of pewter by hand. He makes a mould and casts limited editions, continuously creating new designs. Each piece is then individually hand finished by Wolfgang to create the final piece of art. He owes his success over the past 40 years to his dedication in creating new designs using his incredible gift.
All of Wolfgang’s designs are made from non-toxic, lead free Australian pewter. Using a mixture of silver, tin and bismuth. Giving the products more of a silver finish than traditional pewter products.
All jewellery is silver plated with sterling silver.
Please be aware that because each piece is hand finished they will appear that way. Not all designs are exactly alike and will have some slight differences in finish. All products are inspected before being sent and all care is taken to give you the best product possible.
All products have a life time guarantee, if the product breaks or somehow discolours due to no reason of your own we will happily send you a brand new piece!
Caring for pewter is relatively easy. The metal is susceptible to damage by acids, so it should always be promptly washed with gentle soap and warm water if it has been exposed to things like vinegar or lemon juice. It should be washed with a sponge or soft cloth to avoid scratching the metal, and dried thoroughly. Pewter can also be cleaned with specialised polish, although people should not use generic metal polish on pewter, as it can damage the metal.
Our pewter is very highly finished and should last a life time. It shouldn’t need any kind of maintenance but if it ever does just follow the above directions and your pewter ware should shine up like new.
If you have purchased jewellery it has been silver plated with sterling silver. He makes a mould and casts limited editions from lead free Australian Silver Pewter always creating new designs. All pieces are hand finished.

The 8″ Bowl is a practical gift, because of its size and weight Diameter 180mm x Height 35mm and weight 225gm – making it a perfect git to send overseas or give to someone returning overseas.

It is available in many patterns – in the Indigenous Series there is Brolga, Crocodile and Frog. In the traditional patterns there is Flowering Gum, Satin, Swirl, Waratah and Hand Raised.

Australia is surrounded by ocean and artists have struggled to capture the fluid movement of the ever changing water, sand and light patterns.

Don Sheil has succeeded with spectacular results represented in the Swirl pattern which has evolved to become an enduring favourite in the Don Sheil range.

Many of the designs have been inspired by nature’s textures and patterns, so, as in nature, no two pieces will be exactly alike, and variations characteristic of handcrafting may be apparent.

The Swirl pattern is acid etched and anodically finished. Collectors appreciate this, and although an item will be greatly admired, it is also designed to be used.

The Sheil range continues to maintain this tradition of excellence established over many years, creating versatile, enduring designs, perfect for today’s lifestyle.

Made from a unique alloy, each item has the enduring beauty of silver without the drawbacks. It will not tarnish or impart a metallic taste, nor will it be affected by salad dressing, mustard or wine. It may be put in the freezer or taken straight from the oven to the table.

Each piece in the Sheil Collection carries the Don Sheil trademark which is Don’s signature and hand engraved, which ensures its authenticity and originality. Mark Sheil is now the master craftsman, and is continuing the tradition of excellence, which distinguishes these pieces as collectors items.

Hors d’oeuvre is an appertiser or food items served before the main course of a meal. if there is an extended period between when guests arrive and when the meal is eaten – hors d’oeuvres are often served to stave off hunger. Often hors d’oeuvres are sometimes served with no meal afterward. They may also be served at the dinner table as part of the meal – there are particular foods served as hors d’oeuvres.

The hor d’oeuvre plates designed by Mark Sheil cater for all situations related to Hors d’oeuvre requirements.
